A Gift Her Parents Will Never Forget

Held back to repeat first grade, this 7-year-old girl became a Lucy Project student. She started her journey with us at a very beginning reading level, overwhelmed by confusion for letter sounds and names. These last eight weeks are changing that. Reading coach Virginia Talieh tells us, "She has mastered 17 red words, and has read with confidence and great pride 3 decodable books. She is planning on gift wrapping the books to give to her parents as a present. When they open the box she will read to them." When asked how she felt about the work they are doing together, Virginia said, "Oh yes, I am proud - very proud of our work!"
